I was recently advised to "ground" before applying feng shui cures. I am new to this and am not certain what the term means. do I need to be in direct contact with the earth to do this? (My apartment is on the second floor.) Do I try to meditate or just calm myself before doing any cures? What exactly is "grounding"? I'd like my cures to be as effective as possible and I don't want to be doing it wrong.

Thank you for your question. Grounding is simply a term for an easy exercise that is used to put yourself into a somewhat meditative, Universal consciousness. When you do any kind of ritual work, feng shui cures, spells, or whatever, you are most effective when you have first "Grounded and Centered" yourself.

Basically, what this does is "tune you in" to your connection with both the Earth and the Cosmos. The more you "ground and center" the easier this state of being becomes, and the more effective your spiritual ritual work becomes.

You don't need to be in physical contact with the earth, since our bodies are made of and sustained by the earth.

I just wanted to let you know that I took your article on grounding and centering to a class I began shortly after joining the forum. The class is excellent, and the teacher walks us through various guided meditation and visualization processes.
